January Newsletter
Hello SW London Families, Happy New Year to you all!  With the change of the calendar, we are one step closer to baseball season.  Lots of things are happening at Southwest London Baseball in preparation for the upcoming season.

Website\Registration:

We have a new and updated website.  The new website has a modern feel and will allow us to deliver more information to you digitally.  Browse around and check it out.

While you’re there you can access our new registration system to sign up for the season ahead.  I know what you’re thinking, there’s snow on the ground.  Many of are age groups do sell out every year so please don’t delay.

New this season, you can add our upcoming winter hardball and fastball clinics right from our league registration form.  For more information on the clinics check out this article News > Winter Indoor Baseball & Fastball Clinics (Southwest London Baseball).

To help deliver information to families quicker we’ve also created a new Facebook page, please give us a follow SW London Baseball Facebook

18U Select

In 2025, Southwest London Baseball will look to offer Select baseball at the 18U level (players born in 2007, 2008, or 2009).  Our tryouts will take place in March following the London Talons Rep tryouts.  Players looking to play 18U Rep next season can find out more information on the Talons website Tryout Schedule (London Talons Baseball).

The location, dates and times will be made available in the month ahead.  So, we can gauge interest please fill out the following form: https://forms.gle/etELG84Z161yZVxG8 if you haven’t done so already.

Volunteers Needed
Our association is 100% volunteer run.  We rely on the incredible families of Southwest London and Lambeth to operate our programs, which serves over 500 youth each season.  We always have a need for coaches, assistant coaches and other parents to help at the team level.  We collect interest in those positions at player registration.

We do have several association positions that we need assistance with.  I’ll highlight a few below, you can view all the positions we need help with by visiting our website Executive & Staff (Southwest London Baseball).

Treasurer:
We once again will have a vacancy at the treasury position on the board.  We have an opportunity to transition the role from our current treasurer Stephen Kennedy to a new volunteer over the course of the next season.  The treasurer is a member of the executive board and assists with financial needs of the association, like payments and reimbursements.

Age Group Convenors
We also have a need for convenors at the age groups where we have multiple teams.  A convenor will help balance the teams at the start of the season and be the first point of contact for parents should they have a question that a coach is unable to answer.  The convenor can be held by a coach of one of the teams or can be done as an independent role.  We currently have a need for convenors at the following age groups:

Hardball

Girls Fastball

11U

U11

13U

U13

U17

Are you a local business owner or do you work for a company that sponsors youth sports?  If so, we have an opportunity for you. We are in search of team sponsors to help keep our programs running with reasonable fees and up to date equipment.  Team sponsorship includes putting the company name and/or logo on the back of a team’s uniform or competitive teams banner and on our website.  The cost to sponsor a team is $300 and can be completed by reaching out to us directly.  If you have a creative idea on how we can work together, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected]
