The 15U Select Scorpions baseball team showcased resilience, skill, and heart this past weekend as they powered through extreme heat and tough competition to emerge as tournament champions.
The team blazed through the round robin stage, outscoring their opponents by a staggering 53–6 over three games. Their offense was relentless, and the defense nearly flawless, setting the tone for a high-stakes playoff run.
Sunday brought a new level of challenge as the team faced off against familiar LDBA rivals. In the semifinals, they edged out the DKMB Rivercats in dramatic fashion, walking off with a 7–6 win in their final at-bat.
The championship game against the St. Thomas Cardinals was a true test of grit. Trailing late, the team mounted a thrilling comeback in the top of the 7th inning to clinch a 9–8 victory and secure the title.
This championship run was a testament to the team’s determination, depth, and unshakable belief in one another. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families for a weekend to remember!
